What is UniStart?
The program is delivered during school, at school and by school-based teachers. Classes are conducted over 15 weeks and you'll be required to undertake self-study and assessments. Teachers work with staff from Southern Cross University’s SCU College, who moderate the delivery and assessment of the program.
The program introduces you to the culture of academic enquiry and the conventions of written communication at university, while learning how to balance competing commitments. It aims to develop skills in critical thinking and analysis, academic reading, academic writing, academic integrity, information literacy, research and self-management skills. Teaching involves a mixture of online learning materials, lectures/tutorials and project based investigations.
You'll make at least three visits to the Southern Cross University campus as part of the program to meet with prospective academic staff and support services staff.
If you successfully complete the course and achieve a pass in five Year 12 ATAR subjects, you are guaranteed a place in a Southern Cross University degree.
