Year 12 students
What should I be doing in Year 12?
The better your Year 12 performance, the more choices you have when you leave school. The careers and pathways you have been considering in Year 10 and 11 can become a reality if you work hard and commit to your studies in the lead up to your HSC exams.
To allow yourself to be fully focused at HSC time, spend time early in the year narrowing down your post-school options and taking steps towards them. If Southern Cross University is one of those options, here are some things you can do:
- Find out when UAC and QTAC applications open, and more importantly when they are due. Submit your application early. (If you are applying for distance education, you will apply direct to SCU.) See how to apply for more information.
- You can also apply for Southern Cross University through our STAR Early Entry. This scheme enables Year 12 students to gain early admission to SCU on the basis of your school principal's recommendation.
- Research and apply for scholarships. Southern Cross University offers a range of scholarships for undergraduate students (your first degree) and the application process is simple. You can also find scholarships by searching the Internet.
- If you intend to live on campus in your first year, apply early through SCU Village as rooms are allocated on a first-in basis.
Remember, help is always at hand if you have any questions about our courses, campuses, costs and financial assistance, student support services, accommodation and university life. Year 12 students are welcome to join one of our Virtual Information Sessions held throughout the year, or book a personalised campus tour and talk with our staff face-to-face. Our Future Students team members are also available by phone and email to help you every step of the way.
