Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships 2018

Each year SCU attracts high achieving students to its three main campuses. The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship celebrates the achievements of 6 of these young people. Recipients are selected based on their high ATAR/OP results who have chosen to commence study at a principle Southern Cross University campus the following year. Students can choose any on-campus course. Successful recipients and shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly after the release of Year 12 grades.

Application process

A shortlist will be created after the release of ATAR or OP results. It will be drawn from 2017 school leavers achieving ATARs above 85 or an equivalent OP and who have indicated their intention to commence a course at Southern Cross University in 2018.

$5000 per year over course of study (up to 5 years).

Course of study

Commencing in any undergraduate program. Studying on-campus at either Coffs Harbour, Lismore or the Gold Coast although exceptional performance by a student studying Online will be considered.

Selection criteria

Applicants for the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship must be Australian citizens or permanent residents commencing study in any undergraduate program at either the Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or Lismore campus and selection based on:

  1. Academic achievement: an expected ATAR of 80+, QLD OP of 6 or better, or interstate equivalent, should be used as a guide for eligibility; no specific course requirement.
  2. Scholarships will generally be awarded to the highest achieving male and female student gaining entry to a Southern Cross University undergraduate degree at each of the Gold Coast, Lismore and Coffs Harbour campuses at the time that the scholarship is offered. The gender division is dependant on their being a suitable candidate at all campus. Distance Education students with exceptional Year 12 grades may be considered.
