Enables students to complete a major creative project or to develop advanced-level technical skills related to their creative practice, spanning disciplines such as painting, design, sculpture, printmaking and new media. The unit fosters independent study and studio-based learning, while also offering group supervision for students working within similar creative areas.
As well as facilitating the advancement of specific creative skills proposed by individual students, this independent-study unit is also designed to assist in developing advanced project-based skills, including the ability to plan, implement, reflect on and communicate self-directed creative projects. Students will:
- Propose a creative arts project or area of technical development.
- Undertake research and studio-based practice in consultation with an appropriate supervisor.
- Document their project.
- Provide evidence of the project's impact on the development of practical or creative skills.
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
