Unit description

Finalising the suite of Advanced Studios, this unit will propel the course graduands into exhibition thinking. Contemporary and historical strategies for exhibition making will be considered for the students own real outcomes. The subjects of installation, editing, project articulation, cultural contextualisation are finalised for the graduand’s series of works. The theme for this unit is ‘Exhibition Strategies’.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

edit and consolidate their studio artwork and outcomes in preparation for professional outcomes such as exhibition opportunities or the Graduate Exhibition

critically discuss the issues relevant to current theory and process in their chosen discipline of fine art and in broader art practice

stage a professional presentation and documentation of artworks in their final submission of a completed folio

display critical thinking and planning towards exhibition strategies.
