Unit description

Students will consolidate their capabilities in preparation to enter the health workforce with the knowledge and skills to apply for and obtain graduate-level roles. Strengthens students’ skills in evidence-based practice and working in collaboration with others to enhance learning and provide coordinated, person-centred, evidence-based, and ethical healthcare. Provides students with the opportunity to integrate university studies with experience of professional practice in a biomedical setting. Students will practise and extend knowledge and skills to an applied area of biomedical science – education, pathology or research.

Evidence-based practice in healthcare
Reflective practice, self-care, and emotional intelligence
Introduction to transfusion science in the workplace
Laboratory skills revision

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
