The unit explores the conventions of spoken and written academic communication. Students will develop an understanding of, and skills to meet the academic community's communication expectations. The unit will develop students' ability to engage in academic dialogue with academic integrity.
- Academic Integrity: summarising, paraphrasing, referencing and annotated bibliographies
- Academic Communication: group work
- Digital Literacy: accessing, assessing and disseminating information online
- Academic Writing I: writing paragraphs, using academic vocabulary and hedging/boosting
- Academic Writing II: writing essays and reports
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
