Builds on previous learning and focuses on the application of foundational knowledge in the areas of neurological conditions and co-morbidities, treatments, and rehabilitation principles in a multidisciplinary environment. Students will develop skills for clinical assessment, and the design and delivery of safe, evidence-based exercise interventions for individuals with neurological conditions.
- Brain and neural pathway physiology and pathophysiological bases of neurological conditions.
- Multidisciplinary management including diagnostic criteria and procedures, common medications, surgical, medical and allied health treatments and/or interventions.
- Clinical signs and symptoms and indications and contraindications for exercise.
- Clinical assessment; and monitoring of rehabilitation programs.
- Manual handling and accessibility needs of neurological clientele.
- Design and delivery of safe and effective, evidence-based exercise interventions.
