Develops a working knowledge of construction estimating methods, quantity takeoffs, costs, and price determination used for compilation of a tender package.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1complete a takeoff of materials needed for a civil construction project from drawings and specifications for timber, steel and concrete structures
2estimate labour, equipment and materials costs for a civil construction project
3demonstrate an understanding of cost monitoring and control in a civil construction environment.
