Unit description

Develops knowledge and skills in the psychosocial aspects of practice including models of person-centred care. Students will develop skills as an educator, focusing on teaching strategies for both individuals and groups. Students will demonstrate the principles of adult learning and health behaviour theories and develop a diabetes program for delivery to groups. Students further develop their expertise in working with a variety of clients and families from various backgrounds and cultures, including the elderly, Indigenous peoples and major migrant groups in Australia.
