Unit description

Familiarises students with the epistemology of Lifestyle Medicine.  Students will critically analyse  background, rationale and structure of Lifestyle Medicine as a way to manage lifestyle and environmentally related diseases of the 21st century.

Unit content

  1. Epidemiological trends leading to the emergence of a Lifestyle Medicine method and structure
  2. The discovery and role of Metaflammation
  3. Lifestyle determinants of chronic disease
  4. Environmental determinants of illness
  5. Lifestyle Medicine approaches to Metabolic Health
  6. Planning the use of skills, tools and procedures in practice
