Unit description

Develops students' knowledge of the theory and practice of animation and motion graphics. Students apply digital media skills by integrating text, images, audio and the moving image, to the planning and development of an animated production.

  2. Design and Principles of Animation & Motion Graphics
  3. Audio and Sound for Animation
  4. Production: Visual Development      
  5. Post-Production: Editing and Montage
  6. Business of Animation & Experimental Animation

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1apply pre-production planning and project management processes to production of an animation project
2demonstrate an understanding of the principles of frame animation and character design
3apply animation principles in the production of an audio-visual animation using industry standard software and hardware.
