Unit description
Provides students with an opportunity to engage in academic research in a specified discipline area through the completion, under guidance, of a thesis or creative output and exegesis. This unit comprises the fourth stage of the Honours project.
Unit content
This unit is the fourth shell unit in which students enrol in to complete their Honours thesis/project. A supervisory interview milestone allows for the monitoring of student progress.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to: | |

1 | Independently plan a research project output(s) that demonstrates research and research design skills, critical thinking, initiative, judgment and ethical awareness. |
2 | Critically evaluate disciplinary, methodological, ethical and cultural questions relating to a research project. |
3 | Demonstrate a broad understanding of a body of knowledge and theoretical concepts in a specific discipline with advanced understanding in at least one aspect. |
4 | Demonstrate written and other applicable communication skills to present a clear and coherent exposition of knowledge. |
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
