Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1explain management processes and related concepts as they apply in the design and technology industries
2discuss the roles of Standards Australia, Innovation Australia and IP Australia
3analyse the advantages and disadvantages of a range of communication forms used in the design and technology industries
4outline the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of communication
5demonstrate skill in a range of techniques used to visualise design solutions including the use of graphic software to communicate design ideas and solutions effectively
6critically reflect on the application of design communication such as graphics and CAD/Modelling software to support projects in the Design and Technology course.
