Unit description
Focuses on current issues in the teaching and assessment of mathematics and numeracy in early childhood settings and primary classrooms. A particular emphasis is on developing differentiated strategies for numeracy teaching in diverse classrooms and the effective use of ICTs in mathematics education.

Module 1: Unit overview; Diversity and differentiation; Pedagogies for Number and Algebra I
Module 2: Empowerment and Inclusion; Assessment practices for mathematics learning
Module 3: EAL/D and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students; Pedagogies for Number and Algebra II
Module 4: Students with disability; Pedagogies for Measurement and Geometry
Module 5: Gifted and Talented, and technology models; Pedagogies for Statistics and Probability
Module 6: Numeracy across the curriculum, STEM and Technology
Learning outcomes
