Unit description

This unit allows students to evaluate and develop new value propositions from multiple perspectives. Students will participate in deep collaboration and co-creation. They will use design-led frameworks that take into account both user and societal needs, and will also address business requirements and technological demands. By doing so, the student can create sustainable value.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

Evaluate the effectiveness of a range of design methodologies to drive business innovation, environmental challenges and social impact.

Use design methodologies to develop strategies to address complex business, environmental and social issues.

Collaboratively develop, test and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of prototypes and solutions to address design problems.

Prepare and present design solutions using visual aids to address an identified business, environmental or social challenge.
