Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

prepare detailed, coherent and engaging lesson plans, programs and units of work relating to selected theoretical and practical content and learning outcomes from the Music Stage 4 and 5 syllabi

demonstrate effective teaching and learning strategies, based on the NSW Quality Teaching framework and a range of current pedagogical theories designed to encourage the development of knowledge, understanding, skills, and student engagement

apply an understanding of aspects of curriculum differentiation in order to meet the diverse needs of learners and engage students in active learning

discuss a range of strategies to assess student achievement of learning outcomes, to recognise how learners use their current understanding to discover, develop and incorporate new skills, knowledge and understanding, and to report on the achievement of learning outcomes
