Unit description

This unit facilitates the completion of a research project as a continuation of studies in critical literature review and research methodology. Students are mentored in skills and understanding including results presentation and analysis; discussion of results; and conclusions.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1identify and explain the research literature associated with the topic under investigation
2formulate a research proposal related to the topic under investigation including structuring of research questions
3recognise the methodological approach necessary to investigate the topic, including data collection and analysis procedures
4critically evaluate issues relating to topic and produce a report that meets the specifications detailed in this unit statement.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
