Unit description

Provides students with a body of knowledge, skills, attributes, qualities and values required of ICT professionals. Students will be introduced to principles, standards, code of conducts as well as awareness of cultural diversity, conflict, and its management in a multicultural workforce. Students will explore a range of issues that ICT professionals must manage, allowing students to identify and understand current and emerging issues generated by an ever-changing technology.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

discuss contemporary issues in ICT professional practices

demonstrate a solid understanding of ICT principles, standards, processes and codes of professional conduct to provide ICT products and services

analyse situations involving social, cultural, legal, ethical factors of ICT and consequences for individuals, organisations, and society

utilise effective communication, collaboration and social skills to be productive in ICT professional practice
