Unit description
Equips students to critically examine the literature in their agreed area for identification of research opportunities. Students are supported in their development of skills in critical reading, thinking and analysis; perspective and impact; context, purpose and the function of texts. The unit will also enable students to manage the demands of locating, synthesising/analysing and using various texts to develop competence in academic writing, in order to prepare for their thesis-based literature review. This is a continuing unit. Students will extend on their knowledge as they work towards completion of the final grade awarded in On the Shoulders of Giants: Critically Examining the Literature in Education Part 2.
