Unit description

Leads students through the processes required to plan and initiate an independent research project that will make an original contribution to knowledge in their engineering discipline. Students are required to conduct a literature review on a chosen topic within their discipline, develop a research proposal, and begin to execute the proposal. The research project is subsequently completed in the unit Engineering Thesis II.

Unit content

Students are required to work independently on their chosen research topic under the guidance of their academic supervisor.

These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
