Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate advanced understanding of the principles of separation and analysis of compounds in food and natural products.

demonstrate a high level of proficiency in sample preparation for different types of analytes and analytical procedures

critically evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of  different types of analytical instruments and understand the limits of detection for specific methods of analysis

set up a quality assurance program for a routine chemistry laboratory.
