Unit description
Introduces students to common forest operations and principles of operations management. Students are exposed to legislative and other requirements, project management tools, budgeting, civil works including road network infrastructure design, and go on to apply these elements in field exercises.

Unit content includes
Forest operations planning and goals of operations management
Using project planning tools
Managing time, money and people in forest management
Building forest roads, bridges, and controlling runoff
Operations relating to provision of forest recreational and conservation services

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
