Unit description

Will develop GIS skills to a professional level. Students will work with a variety of software to perform spatial analysis, image interpretation, database management and integrate data from various sources/software platforms. The class will work together on a single environmental issue and solve a defined spatial problem. At the same time, students will be managing and solving a complex spatial problem related to their own area of interest.

Acquiring suitable spatial and non spatial data for a project

Fundamentals of remote sensing

Image interpretation

Using QGIS and GRASS to solve a spatial problem

Using Google Earth Pro to solve a spatial problem
