Advances the students’ understanding of osteopathic diagnosis and treatment, and introduces the concept of reflective practice and current evidence of the mechanisms of pain production. Building on the skills and understanding gained in Osteopathic I, students will develop critical reflection and evidence-based musculoskeletal diagnosis and management of different regions of the body.
- Introduction to general musculoskeletal examination including gait
- Spinal inter-segmental examination
- Bio-psycho-social mechanisms of pain production
- Chronic pain syndromes including central sensitization
- Evidence-based practice
- Principles and practice of exercise therapy
- Reflective practice
- Muscle energy technique
- Diagnosis and treatment protocol for of shoulder and upper limb
