Unit description
Develops practical skills in exercise and sport assessment in alignment with the scope of practice of an Accredited Exercise Scientist. Students learn to conduct comprehensive initial client consultations to determine individual client needs. Students will design, deliver and interpret a range of exercise and sport assessments during laboratory classes to assess fitness qualities. The unit has a strong focus on effective practitioner-client communication to develop rapport with a client, to provide clear instructions and to create a positive atmosphere during exercise and sport assessment, and to communicate results in a safe and effective manner.
