Unit description
Focuses upon the application of foundational knowledge in the areas of musculoskeletal health, musculoskeletal injury prevention, and rehabilitation principles in a multidisciplinary environment. Students will develop skills in musculoskeletal assessment, and the design and delivery of safe, effective evidence-based exercise interventions for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions.
Unit content
- Clinical approach to assessment of musculoskeletal injury in general and athletic populations across the lifespan
- Evidence based exercise rehabilitation techniques in acute musculoskeletal injuries
- Evidence based exercise rehabilitation techniques in overuse musculoskeletal injuries
- Occupational injury, rehabilitation and return to work
- Injury prevention and return to play
- Musculoskeletal disease management in special populations
