Unit description

Introduces students to the principles and practices of convention and exhibition planning.  Students focus on planning the coordination of key parties including: venue, catering and audio visual service providers and the conveners and exhibitors by the Professional Conference/Exhibition Organiser with a particular focus on marketing and promoting the convention and exhibition.

  5. Exhibition Management
  6. Onsite Operations.  Virtual Meetings

 

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1demonstrate knowledge of the key elements involved in planning conventions and exhibitions
2identify and analyse the complementary and competing interests of key stakeholders
3demonstrate the capability to design and propose a convention or exhibition to address the competing interests of key stakeholders
4demonstrate the knowledge and skills to reflect upon the challenges of planning a convention or exhibition and how these challenges are managed.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
