Unit description

Introduces students to the principles and practices of entrepreneurship.  Students focus on the entrepreneurial mindset, problem identification, creativity, innovation, and commercialisation.

  2. Sources of Capital & Legal Structures
  3. Strategic and Sustainable Business Plan
  4. Marketing for Entrepreneurial Ventures
  5. Innovation, Opportunity, and Protection
  6. Leadership and the Entrepreneur

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1demonstrate knowledge of the core elements of entrepreneurship and how they function
2identify and critically analyse the relationship between the practices of entrepreneurship, and leadership, and contemporary management practices
3demonstrate the capability to synthesise the investment proposal and business plan for a new business
4demonstrate the knowledge and skills to reflect upon the personal and professional challenges of nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset whilst adhering to sound business practices.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
