Unit description

Provides an understanding of the nature of the different types of events, their life cycles and a practical approach to designing, planning and organising events.  Students will gain experience in creating, executing and reviewing a special event.

Module 5 Legal, Risk and OHS Management

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1discuss the success factors that drive different types of events
2assess the principles of sustainability and ethical practice in managing events
3demonstrate an understanding of the different processes involved in designing and executing a special event and successfully liaising with relevant stakeholders
4review the success and / or challenges of a student-led event.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
