Unit description

Presents the Indigenous experience as a key driver of International tourism. Identify factors in profitable, successful and sustainable business development in Indigenous tourism. Students will explore the principles for ethical, culturally safe and exciting experiences for visitors.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

describe the principles, practices and protocols for tourist enterprise development with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

present current examples as a basis for scoping the opportunities and potentials for Indigenous Experience enterprise development

analyse the values and experiences that attract, engage and reward visitors while also affirming personal values and maintaining good community relations.
