Unit description

Examines Indigenous people’s ways for collaborating and working together in various contexts. Cultural safety, models and methods for integrating community and cultural principles with organisational objectives and governing policies will be explored.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1explore the everyday practices and events in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and community organisations as behaviour with immense administrative potential
2explore and evaluate the re-positioning of administrative and human resource systems required to accommodate and tap the latent potential of Indigenous family and community organisation
3examine effective and shared value systems and procedures for new ways in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations and business.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
