Unit description

This unit assists students to Respectfully engage with Country and community to build reciprocal relationships through which knowledge emerges. Country is a vital place that we inhabit and it also exists inside as a model for being human in a proper way. During a compulsory 4-day residential workshop students model reciprocal relationships growing their understanding that Country is alive and intelligent providing everything that it's people need. 

Unit content

Topic 1: Indigenous Knowledge as a process of relationship with Country

Topic 2: Biodiversity and cultural diversity: the recognition of culture and cultural heritage within development of Indigenous Research

Topic 3: Indigenous environmental and natural resource management

Topic 4: The impact of Intellectual property rights in international and domestic law

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
