Unit description
Bringing together community to develop and articulate community-based Indigenous Knowledge, this unit helps to narrate community reality. Respectful engagement with Indigenous Communities will make community-based knowledge visible, and allow this knowledge to be utilised to achieve successful outcomes as defined by and experienced by the members of those communities.
Unit content
Module 1: Acknowledging Country, Community, and Indigenous worldviews
Module 2: Designing best-practice community engagement strategy
Module 3: Indigenous Knowledge development in relationship with community
Module 4: Yarning with Community (and Country): principles, protocols, and practices
Module 5: Researcher relational responsibilities with community (ICIP etc)
Module 6: Developing action from Indigenous Knowledge gained with community
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
