Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

explain fundamental concepts of accounting information systems related to business processes, database and system development

evaluate different information systems and technologies, system documentation techniques, and internal controls

analyse the flow of accounting data and information in relation to major business (transaction) cycles

identify the importance of governance, auditing and security from an ethical standpoint and assess the potential threat to good governance from fraud and cybercrime.
