Unit description

Considers ways to understand user needs, goals and tasks. This unit deals with analysis methods for human-centred design of information-rich user interfaces and user experiences. Covers methods applicable to formative and summative testing and evaluation. Students learn to extract and analyse findings into audience segments, personas and scenarios that model user behaviour.

Topic 3: Identification and application of personas; user research
Topic 4: UX documentation including journey mapping
Topic 5: User evaluation methods
Topic 6: Analysis of evaluation
Topic 7: Choosing an appropriate software framework
Topic 8: Product testing - testing plan, test cases
Topic 9: Adapting to changes in requirements
Topic 10: Analysis of testing plans and results
Topic 11: User error - who is to blame?
Topic 12: Project review - analysis and critique

Learning outcomes
