Unit description
Develops a knowledge of employment law, industrial law and industrial relations relevant for legal advisers and law in relation to the Federal jurisdictions and legal issues involving both the employer and employee are discussed.

Module 1: Regulatory framework of Australian industrial relations
Module 2: OHS, workers' compensation, safe system
Module 3: Employment rights and responsibilities
Module 4: The limits of the contract of employment
Module 5: Security from dismissal
Module 6: Bargaining and disputes

3 | explain and evaluate the legal framework of the Australian Industrial Relations system, including key legislative and common law principles; |
4 | evaluate the legal issues and obligations involved in the employment relationship and in industrial disputes and apply the laws accurately to these. |
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
