Unit description

Explores contemporary topics of interest, debate and policy development within intellectual property law, with a focus on the core IP rights such as copyright and patents. The unit will also canvass issues of practical and commercial application that resonate with these core IP rights, and consider wider implications.

Topic 1: Copyright and related rights

Topic 3: Rights of attribution (trade marks, passing off, geographical indications)

Topic 4: IP transactions

Topic 5: Franchising and IP

Topic 6: Emerging issues in IP

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
