Unit description
Offers an opportunity for critical reflection on corporate governance mechanisms in the Australian legal terrain. It is designed to develop critical evaluative skills to enhance effective governance performance of bodies and individuals in corporate entities. The aim of the unit is to facilitate an innovative and integrated understanding of legal mechanisms and practices inherent in the governance of corporations, in their various forms, in the commercial and social settings.

Topic 1 – Acquainting with the law of corporate governance
Topic 2 – Regulation, management and control of corporate bodies
Topic 3 – Formative roles of the board, management and members
Topic 4 – Contemporary corporate governance issues
Topic 5 – Sustainability and corporate social responsibility
Topic 6 – Critical reflection on corporate governance in the Australian legal terrain
Learning outcomes
