Unit description

Introduces contemporary airport management issues through instructor-led activities in a team-based learning environment with a heavily applied focus. Students will apply practical management tools to the context of the Gold Coast Airport and its immediate footprint, which includes a wide variety of stakeholder groups.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1analyse and discuss key concepts, theories and issues associated with the planning, development, management and marketing of airports.
2explain the interrelationships between various airport stakeholders in the context of contemporary airport management.
3evaluate the impact of a variety of factors influencing the management of competitive airports.
4demonstrate professional, effective and persuasive communication through written reports and oral presentations relating to the planning, management and development of airports.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
