Unit description

Enables students to commence, sustain and reflect upon further continuity experiences within a collaborative model of care. The importance of self-care and life balance is explored. Organisational law related to midwifery is explored.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1critically evaluate the effects a continuity experience may have on the student midwife
2critically analyse and discuss organisational law that applies to midwifery practice
3critically reflect on a continuity relationship within a collaborative model of care.
