Unit description
Supports students to commence the final midwifery continuity experience and build upon knowledge and skills necessary for cultural safety when working with women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Legal and ethical issues concerning parental rights and the rights of the child are discussed, including the impact on the self of the midwife. Ethical issues around mandatory reporting of a fellow professional are explored. Students will engage in career planning.
