Unit description
Introduces students to the organisation, implementation and management of strategies to purchase, maintain and enhance the longevity of public and private infrastructure assets. Software tools will be utilised and students will undertake activities that integrate underpinning theories and best engineering industry practice.
Unit content
Topic 1. Principles of life-cycle analyses associated with operation, maintenance and renewal of infrastructure assets
Topic 2. Assessing remaining service life and renewal strategies
Topic 3. Familiarisation with software tools
Topic 4. Planning and implementation of asset management: managing costs, resources, quality and risks
