Unit description
Learners examine a range of research methodologies that can be utilised in clinical practice environments. These methodologies include case studies, case series, clinical audits, n of 1 studies, single case experimental designs (SCED) and surveys. The learner is also introduced to whole-system research, outcome measures, good clinical practice and ethics. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to: | |
---|---|
1 | apply purpose and principles of practice-based health research to research and clinical practice |
2 | critically apply the principles of good clinical practice and human research ethics |
3 | integrate outcome measures aligned to appropriate research methodology into designed research project(s) |
4 | evaluate alignment of whole systems research, descriptive and interventional research methodologies to designed research project(s) |
