Unit description

Integrates, applies, consolidates and extends knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout the course in a 170-hour professional experience placement undertaken in a real-life primary care setting.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
1illustrate attitude, behaviour, consultation style, dialogue and environmental elements of the rapport process in a primary care setting
2use appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic reasoning pertinent to the primary care setting
3plan and deliver safe, evidence-based naturopathic medicine therapeutics within a primary care setting
4apply the review process by reassessing patient progress, reflecting on one's practice and referring the patient where appropriate

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
