Explores the roles of the mental health professional in the 21st century, within the context of mental health outside of, but articulating with tertiary services. Learners will critically explore the growing role and opportunities for their discipline within the Non-Government and primary health sectors and will deconstruct consumers’ experiences of care within those settings.
- Key stakeholders and funding streams within primary care and non-government contexts
- Relationships between the recovery and medical models and experienced consumer care
- Stepped care and integrated care pathways: barriers, enablers and required capabilities
- Vulnerable mental health consumer groups within the community
- Lived experience and its impact on therapeutic relationships and within professionalised roles.
