Builds upon previous knowledge and skills to enable students to acquire an applied perspective on research and the principles of quality management and patient safety.

  • Utilising research to promote patient safety
  • Utilising research to identify health care issues
  • Incident reporting and analysis
  • Patient safety and sentinel events
  • Evidence-based practice and quality health outcomes
  • Evidence-based practice and systematic reviews

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
