Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

critically review approaches to intervention using major paediatric frames of reference

analyse the relationship between person and environment factors that affect performance in play, leisure and school occupations

apply appropriate assessment and intervention strategies to promote occupational performance in school and play contexts, with consideration of the child and other relevant stakeholders

apply trauma informed, family centred and culturally safe care in occupational therapy practice
