Provides students with a deep understanding of the diagnostic theory and methods in primary care medicine while integrating osteopathic principles and practices into evidence-based patient care; develops professional and business knowledge and skills in readiness for independent community health practice.
Case study development, including:
- Case history interview
- Integration of basic and clinical sciences
- Nutritional and lifestyle considerations
- Diagnostic work up, incorporating best available evidence
- Development of a rational management plan, including chronic pain and neuro-musculoskeletal rehabilitation and interprofessional collaboration
Cases will be drawn from the immunological, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary systems.
