Unit description
Provides a comprehensive introduction to the clinical skills required in the holistic assessment of the individual, with particular emphasis on osteopathic physical examination. Develops students' clinical reasoning skills as they interpret clinical findings and their consequences for osteopathic clinical practice.
Unit content
- Therapeutic communication and patient interview skills and development of an effective osteopathic consultation.
- Synthesis of Differential Diagnosis
- Physical Examination Protocol
- Critical analysis of the evidence for assessment and diagnosis
- Development of the osteopathic working diagnosis
- Clinical Reasoning and Integration
